Thorsten von Eicken
Internet Systems Architecture
Welcome to my still sparse web home! Information about me and what I do can be found in a number of places:
TvE 2100 is my blog about various technologies. Xen server virtualization, Ruby on Rails, Amazon Web Services, Wireless, etc. I use it both to write up thoughts and to keep track of tips and tricks.
TvE courses has the descriptions of classes I have taught at UCSB since leaving Cornell.
The Diablo Peak Wireless project describes the two 26-32 mile 802.11g (WiFi) links I run out to Santa Cruz island and has pictures of the Diablo Peak webcam owned by UCSB that I operate.
I kept an archive of my old Cornell University Computer Science web page with information about my former research projects, publications, courses, and other interests. That page has not been updated since 1999! The Cornell CS department still have a copy of my page up, but it doesn't seem to be some older version and a bunch of links are apparently broken, but still, pretty amazing they have anything left at all: that's a good archival policy!
As Chief Architect at Expertcity.com I designed and developed significant parts of the GoToMyPC, GoToAssist, GoToMeeting, and GoToWebinar products. Expertcity was acquired by Citrix Systems in 2004 and is now the Citrix Online division.
To get in touch with me you can email me at tve at my lastname dot com (same as this web server).
